Description

Sasori was the grandson of Lady Chiyo who took care of him and taught him the art of making puppets after his parents were killed by Sakumo Hatake. Sasori proved to be a born natural at the art of puppet making and even made puppets that resembled his parents to get rid of the terrible loneliness he felt. But because they were only puppets, incapable of giving him the natural parental love he desired, he lost interest in them. Sasori created many puppets during his time in the Sand Village (such as Crow, Black Ant, and Salamnder) which were used to so successfully during the Third Great Ninja War that they were said to have dyed the sand red with blood, thus giving rise to to the name 'Sasori of the Red Sand'.

Sometime after leaving the village, Sasori joined the Akatsuki, and was eventually paired with Orochimaru. They had great respect for each other during their partnership, and did many things together. After Orochimaru left the Akatsuki, Sasori was teamed up with Deidara, although he always carried a grudge against his former partner. During this time, Sasori amassed a staggering collection of Human Puppets; a technique developed by Sasori that allowed him to create puppets from the still-living bodies of humans. These puppets retained their use of chakra and any kekkai genkai that the host once had. Sasori's favourite human puppet was the Third Kazekage who was kidnapped by Sasori and eventually turned into a puppet. The 3rd was once hailed as the greatest and most powerful Kazekage in history due to his unique kekkei genkai, Iron Sand, which the puppet retained.
